Travel & Croatia

I've been an entrepreneur my entire adult life. Building things, solving problems, figuring out how systems work - that's what drives me. But alongside that, I've always been a traveller. I've explored over 40 countries, and at various points seriously considered living abroad. I never did - because I never found anywhere that came close to the quality of life Croatia offers. I'm not just saying that because it's home. Croatia is one of the safest countries in Europe, with clean cities, a mild climate, and mostly beautiful weather year-round. But what makes it genuinely unique is how much variety exists in such a small area - a stunning coastline with over a thousand islands, hills and mountains inland, seven national parks, a rich food and wine tradition, and people who are warm in a way that isn't performed for tourists. It's a combination I simply haven't found anywhere else. Of all the places in Croatia, Plitvice Lakes holds a special place for me. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Sixteen terraced lakes connected by over 90 waterfalls, set inside ancient forest — it's one of the most beautiful natural places in the world, and I don't think that's an exaggeration. A few years ago, I purchased property near the park. I'm developing apartments in the area, and as part of that process I started researching everything about the region — accommodation, restaurants, activities, transport, seasonal patterns, what visitors actually need and what they struggle to find. What I discovered was a gap. The information available to tourists visiting Plitvice Lakes is either shallow, outdated, or scattered across dozens of sources that often contradict each other. There was no single, comprehensive, trustworthy resource that covered everything a visitor needs to know. So I built one. Travel Plitvice is that resource. Every piece of information on this site is thoroughly researched and regularly updated. Prices, opening hours, seasonal details, and recommendations are checked against current conditions — when something changes, the site changes with it. I'm not a journalist. I'm not a travel influencer. I'm a software engineer and entrepreneur who has been running a web development agency for over 10 years. I fell in love with a place, bought property there, and wanted to do something good for the area. I used my experience building web products to create a resource that I hope will help millions of tourists get the best possible experience — and all the information they need — in one place. — Andrej
